Blog Challenge #6 : Biggest size you own? (Have held/seen/like

That's quite a few questions in one really... The biggest size I own is MiniFee, so small MSD size. I'm happy with that size as they can live quite happily in a box, don't take too much room up and are easy enough to cart about.

The biggest size I've owned is SD, I had a Luts Delf Soony for about 2 weeks... as soon as I saw her I was pretty sure she wouldn't be staying, too big, I didn't dare take her even into the garden and it was hard to get a photo of her with my other dolls.

The biggest size I've seen/held is SSD, I've met a rather wonderful Dollshe boy... I think, if I won the lottery, I would have a boy that size. But I'd need to win the lottery as I'd want to clothe him in all the best clothes, oh and have a room for him to live in so he could be out all the time.

Blog Challenge #5 : What/who was the very first BJD you saw?

Well, as I said yesterday the first BJD I owned was also the first one I saw IRL... When she came home I thought I'd never have another... how could I afford them, why would I want more than one?? ... it didn't take long till the second had been ordered from the Latidoll website... and since then there hasn't been long when I've not been waiting for someone.

In the time  I've been collecting I have had...

1: Luts SD
7: MiniFee (still have 4 - 5 bodies!)
1: Lati Green
7: LittleFee (Still have 4)

6: Lati Yellow
5: PukiFee (Still have 4)
1: Lati White SP
1: Multihead
8: Pukipuki (still have 5)
1: Doll Factory Mouse

Total....
38

which in just over 3 years... I make that over 1 a month since I've started collecting... ok some of these have just been heads, but it's still probably too many. :)

Blog Challenge #4 : What/who was the first BJD you ever owned? Do you still own them?

The first BJD I saw in real life was my first BJD (I think it's like that for quite a few people!)

I'd had Pullips for a while after falling in love with them doing a 365 Toy a day project... the more you get into the doll world the more different dolls you see. As soon as I saw the adorable Lati Yellows I knew I had to have one... but they were SOOO expensive, who would ever pay that for a doll... *cough*

I put a WTB on a flickr group and was incredibly lucky in that it was answered almost straight away, by someone with the Lati I wanted and who only lived an hours drive away! So I agreed with my husband that I could have her and went to pick her up! So I guess my first BJD I saw also came with my first BJD friend. I'm still very good friends with her and we meet up whenever we can for dolly days.

This is Milly, my first... a Lati Yellow Lami. She came home on 24 October 2008 and left in the summer of 2010, once my love for Fairyland had well and truly taken over.

Blog Challenge #3 : Post a picture of all your dolls

I've been holding off on this one thinking I'd take a new photo of everyone... but it's not looking likely so I'll just put up one from last month :)

This is the photo I took for my doll a day challenge on day 300. It's my full doll family.

Blog Challenge #1 : Why do you like BJDs?

Why do I like BJD's? That's kind of a tough question, and I guess I'm still finding out myself.

When I was little I played with dolls, I had some Sindys and Barbies... but they weren't my favourite toys. I used to spend hours playing with Lego and playmobil, building up worlds and stories for them. I think for me BJDs fit into that kind of play, they tend to have characters and personalities... and the ones who I don't find a character for tend to leave fairly quickly. I've had far too many arrive and as soon as I see them I know they wont be staying long.

The BJDs I have now are all really special to me, for different reasons and I do love some more than others, but I'm pretty sure they're all keepers.

I enjoying finding styles for them, and shopping for clothes, shoes and accessories. I enjoy making up stories with them, and doing photostories to share.  I guess I like how much of my creative side they bring out, my main way of playing with them is taking photos, but I have tried to sew for them before, which I'm not good at, but enjoy trying anyway.

EDIT:
I forgot to mention one of my very favourite things about BJDs... the community! I have met so many people, IRL and online, who I now call friends through this hobby. I think on the whole BJD people are a great bunch of people, and I'm glad to be part of that.
